Hollyoaks' Verity finally catches out Eric
His dark secret has been exposed.
Verity Hutchinson has finally caught out brother Eric in Hollyoaks.
The truth has come out following Maxine's suspicion that Eric was the one who'd spiked her drink recently. Maxine has been investigating in order to identity this dangerous trend in their community.
Eric was keen to stay away from Maxine when they were invited to a self-defence class by Verity in Tuesday's (November 22) first-look episode.
Verity wasn't taking no for an answer given Maxine's investigation into the spiking, and soon enough, both were being dragged along to the class.
During the class, Verity was thrilled that Maxine had "warmed" to her brother, insisting that Eric was "one of the good guys". Maxine knew this wasn't the case and had been playing nice to get more evidence.
After Verity admitted that Eric "spends way too much time chatting to people online", Maxine slipped away to gather evidence in his camper.
Verity walked in to find Maxine rummaging through her brother's living space. While Verity was furious at first, Maxine dropped a bombshell that she believed Eric was the drink spiker.
Maxine showed Verity a photo proving the drink spiker had a tattoo that matched Eric's, before she vowed to tell everyone what Eric was actually like.
As the self-defence class continued, Maxine barged in to publicly accuse Eric of being the spiker. Verity attempted to disprove Maxine by repeating Eric's claims that he'd been spiked too.
"You were spiked by the drink that you gave me," Maxine angrily told Eric.
Verity angrily accused Maxine of trying to ruin her brother's life, then told her not to bother coming in to work again. Later, Verity admitted to Shaq that she was starting to doubt her own brother.
She started to realise the truth about her brother when she noticed a comment on a photo of the self-defence class referred to Eric as "a true-eyed boy" — the pet name their mother had used for Eric.
Verity snuck into her brother's camper and logged onto his laptop. She was horrified to see all of the misogynistic comments he'd been writing online. Will she confront her brother?
Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
