Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis has introduced an adorable new puppy, revealing the new family addition has "brought so much love at a really tough time".

The Sinead O'Connor actress shared a series of pictures of the new family addition on Instagram, revealing she is called Sandy.

"Meet…Sandy.. And then there were Four… Sandy has brought so much love at a really tough time," Stephanie began.

"Me & joe discussed about getting a dog for about 6 months or more but we both wanted to make sure they would have our full time & attention & that we could be fully committed as a decision like this isn’t made lightly, there a part of your family.

"When we went to view her we fell in love! When we asked what date she was born we found out she was born on Sam (Joes brothers) birthday!! So we took that as a sign from above and brought her home."

The star went on to reveal that her son Caben has "struggled" following the recent death of her grandmother Mary, adding: "Sandy has put a massive smile on her face and mine & joes and my family’s."

"It’s amazing how not only therapeutic dogs are but also intuitive," she added, "as she’s been so loving and cuddly I think she can sense our sadness as you can see on the pic where she fell asleep on my shoulder, Caben has a best friend for life now and I can’t wait to watch their bond grow. Sannddyyy why are you following me."




Earlier this week, Stephanie announced Mary's death, saying on Instagram: "It’s been a horrendous time and it’s not quite sunk in that she’s gone, I still feel in shock. She was a fantastic nan and brought us all so much joy and laughter with her infectious laugh."

She added: "I’m grateful for all the times we shared and the beautiful upbringing you gave us grandkids. With memories I’ll cherish forever.

"It panics me to think I’ll never see you again, but I keep telling my self I’ll see you again In heaven and I know your with my grandad now."

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
