Hollyoaks reveals Theresa McQueen's exit story as Jorgie Porter goes on maternity leave
The actress is off on maternity leave.
Hollyoaks has revealed Theresa McQueen's heartbreaking exit story ahead of new scenes airing.
Cast member Jorgie Porter is set to exit the soap soon to go maternity leave, as she's expecting a baby boy with fiancé Ollie Piotrowski.
Her character's exit comes during a turbulent time for the McQueen family, as Mercedes has fallen out with Goldie over troubled Bobby Costello's recent violent tendencies..
In upcoming scenes, Theresa admits to love interest Romeo Nightingale that she's planning to leave the village once again because nothing good has happened since she's been back.
Romeo puts on a brave face as the couple have to say goodbye before Theresa says a fond farewell to her McQueen family members and then sets off for new pastures.
Earlier in the year, Jorgie Porter had a light-hearted explanation for the ways producers were able to cover up her growing baby bump during filming.
"Obviously my outfits for Theresa are not pregnant friendly, so yeah, it's good to reveal it," she told New! magazine.
"I think, honestly, I've been doing my best acting just hiding it and pretending I've been ok, which you know, is kind of annoying as you just want to be like 'Guys, hug me!'"
Jorgie first joined Hollyoaks in 2008, and most recently returned to the show in 2020. While Theresa initially came back to scam her family, she has managed to make peace with them in the last few years.
Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
