Former Neighbours star Scott McGregor, who played Detective Mark Brennan on the soon-to-be-revived soap, has been charged with one count of sexual assault.
The charge relates to an alleged incident which took place at a seaside pub in St Kilda, Melbourne in February of this year (via Herald Sun).
McGregor is due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court in January 2023.
Scott played Mark Brennan on and off from 2010 until 2019 when the character was written out, heading to Adelaide to look after his sick mother. Mark made a return in 2020 for the 35th anniversary celebrations.
As for the soap, we know now that this summer's final episode was merely a “see you next year”, with it now being confirmed that the beloved series will be making a return to our screens in 2023.
The new home for Neighbours will be Amazon Freevee in the UK, and production is due to start on the new episodes in April once several key cast members have toured the UK as part of what was called Neighbours: The Farewell Tour.
While we know that four cast members will definitely be reprising their roles for the revival, it remains to be seen which other faces from the 2022 cast will be joining them.
Neighbours returns in mid-2023 with new episodes streaming free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new series.
