Emmerdale confirms split for David Metcalfe and Victoria Barton

 Victoria reaches the end of her tether.

Emmerdale couple David Metcalfe and Victoria Barton will split up next week as a speeding ticket destroys their relationship.

Victoria is furious when she discovers that David has betrayed her by submitting her name for the speeding fine he recently received.

When David decides to come clean with Victoria over using her name and details on the official form acknowledging the fine, she threatens to report him to the police unless he sets the record straight himself.

David reluctantly goes to the police, pleading his case and hoping he can say enough to get himself out of trouble again.

Later, David assures Victoria that he's cleared her name, but she remains unimpressed by his behaviour.

David ultimately finds Victoria moving her things out of the house. He's devastated as Victoria declares that it's over between them.

Wendy Posner offers Victoria a place to stay at Dale View, but Victoria seems unsure over whether she's really doing the right thing.

David makes it clear that he won't give up on Victoria when he heads out to try and win her back again.

Later in the week, David is surprised to discover that Bear Wolf is now working in his shop.

David's dad Eric Pollard explains that he has brought Bear on board as the new delivery driver, since David will be banned from driving for the foreseeable future. Bear proves to be a useful ally in other ways too, as he offers David some kind words of advice.

Before long, David decorates the shop in festive lights to create a Christmas grotto setting.

David hopes that the gesture will boost interest in the struggling business – and perhaps win Victoria back too. However, Eric and Leyla Cavanagh express concern that David is foolishly putting himself in further debt for the wrong reasons – are they right to be worried?
