9 huge Coronation Street Christmas spoilers revealed

What's ahead over the festive season?

Coronation Street has confirmed this year's Christmas storylines for the first time.

The ITV soap's plans for the festive season had been teased via tabloid leaks, paparazzi photos and hints from the cast in recent weeks, but an official preview now provides an in-depth guide to what's in store.

What can we expect this year? Here are nine must-see storylines on the way.

1. Tyrone's Christmas wedding plans

It's official – Tyrone and Fiz will be taking centre stage in the main festive storyline this year.

The reunited couple get engaged again in the build-up to Christmas, but Tyrone is wasting no time before getting Fiz down the aisle.

Tyrone becomes determined to have a Christmas Day to remember – and spare Fiz the stress of a long and drawn-out engagement. He secretly books the ceremony for December 25 and takes on all the planning himself, covering everything from the dress, to the venue and the party.

Sadly, Fiz becomes downbeat when she wrongly thinks that she and Tyrone don't have anything special planned for Christmas Day. When Tyrone heads down the stairs with Hope and Ruby, ready to put his plans into motion, Fiz is nowhere to be seen.

Recent paparazzi photos showed that Fiz heads out to get some last-minute supplies and ends up stranded on the road following a car breakdown. Will she return in time for the carefully-planned ceremony, or has Tyrone's idea backfired badly?

2. Daniel plans a proposal

A second rumoured storyline has now been officially confirmed. As Daniel gets into the festive spirit, he decides that it's time to make a commitment to Daisy.

Daniel seeks the blessing of Daisy's former stepmum Jenny, explaining that he plans to pop the question. He also secures the support of his father Ken.

Unfortunately, Daniel's romantic plans go badly wrong when there's a burglary at the Barlow house and the ring he intended to use is stolen.

Earlier this month, newspaper reports suggested that Daniel may ultimately propose with a ring from a Christmas cracker, so let's hope Daisy is in an understanding mood.

3. Max is drawn in further by Griff

Max is currently featuring in Corrie's biggest ongoing issue-based storyline, as extremist group leader Griff continues to groom him. With Griff's manipulations taking their toll, the atmosphere is frosty at the Platt house as Max repeatedly clashes with David.

Max feels increasingly estranged from his family and seeks an escape via his troubling new friendships. With the teen unaware that everything isn't as it seems, it's only a matter of time before he finds himself in danger.

4. Stephen considers killing again

Stephen managed to get away with murder when he covered up the death of Leo in September, but his problems are still far from over. The sly villain desperately tries to cover his tracks over his escalating financial issues and the disturbing truth over Leo's disappearance.

In upcoming scenes, Stephen's family start to ask questions and his ex-wife Gabrielle makes new threats to reveal what she knows about him.

Leo's father Teddy also starts to doubt the reasons he has been given for his son's disappearance.

Corrie insider teased: "How long is it before Stephen contemplates killing again? And who will his next victim be?"

5. Nick's deal with Harvey could backfire

Corrie star Ben Price recently announced a surprising new story for his character Nick, who resorts to desperate measures by accepting money from killer Harvey.

Nick takes the cash from the jailed drug dealer after arranging to buy Debbie's share of the Bistro. The cost of this business decision escalates when Nick and Leanne discover that the building is riddled with dry rot.

Nick thinks that Harvey offered up the money because he feels guilty after meeting Sam to discuss the death of Natasha.

Of course, there's far more to it and Nick soon realises there are a lot more strings attached, leading to sinister blackmail demands.

This story ties in with the arrival of new character Damon. Damon, played by Shameless star Ciaran Griffiths, is Jacob Hay's father.

As the pressure of the situation mounts, the big question is whether Nick will be able to keep the truth from Leanne or if their relationship might not last until the New Year.

6. Summer faces major new decisions

Corrie bosses recently confirmed a tragedy ahead for Summer as she suffers a miscarriage in upcoming scenes. This also affects Mike and Esther, following Summer's promise to give them her baby in exchange for money.

The emotional fallout sees Summer make another deal with the couple, promising to be a surrogate for them.

As the story progresses, Summer faces not only her own doubts and fears about the pregnancy and her diabetes, but those of her family too. Can she turn back the clock?

7. Sean's future with Laurence is under threat

Sean recently messed up his fledgling relationship with Laurence by snooping on his phone, wanting to find out whether his boyfriend was hiding something from him.

Show bosses have now tipped Sean and Laurence as ones to watch over Christmas, as we find out whether they can cement their relationship. With some unexpected attempts from Todd to come between them, it certainly won't be plain sailing.

8. The pressure is on for George

George gave Eileen an ill-judged Christmas present last year when he presented her with a coffin and boasted about making a bespoke funeral plan for her.

The epic failure of 2021 means that the pressure is on for George to make it up to Eileen this year. Fingers crossed for something less morbid.

9. Sally tries to treat Tim

Sally and Tim's marriage has faced challenges this year, culminating in the recent row when Sally accused Tim of having an emotional affair with their friend Aggie.

With the dust settling, Sally hopes that her gift to Tim can restore peace and harmony in their relationship.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
