Next week on Hollyoaks, Maxine is attacked as the show airs a special episode highlighting the several dangerous scenarios women face on a night out.

Meanwhile, Mercedes returns with a revelation which tears the family apart, while Goldie makes a shocking discovery.

1. Maxine is attacked

In a special episode, titled 'The Long Walk Home', Maxine finds herself navigating her way home alone without her mobile or money after a fun girls' night out, ending in her being violently attacked.

The scenes will see Maxine examine whether different choices she had made during the evening could have changed the outcome.

In contrast, Romeo, also out in the city, travels back to Chester with a hen party he meets on his journey.

2. Maxine is haunted by flashbacks

As the vicious attack on Maxine makes front page news, she faces uncertainty on what to tell her daughter Minnie about her injuries.

Maxine is haunted by flashbacks, and Romeo trying to help her with her dropped shopping results in a heartbreaking reaction.

3. Eric's dark behaviour continues

On the night of Maxine's attack, Diane turns up to the pub and joins Eric, Tom and Beau for a drink. However, as the group discuss the girls' night out in Liverpool, the difference in opinion highlights the worries that women face.

Later, a furious Lizzie jumps to her sister's defence when Maxine faces scrutiny from Eric for being out late at night by herself.

It soon becomes apparent that Eric could have another sinister plan up his sleeve when he lands a worrying job at The Loft.

4. Maxine takes action

Determined to reclaim her power, Maxine organises a meeting at The Dog to make a tearful declaration.

The women of Hollyoaks challenge certain men's passive thinking when it comes to the issues women face on a daily basis.

5. Goldie makes a shocking discovery

Goldie's mind is all over the place as she faces Mercedes's impending return.

As she digs through Sylver's iCloud, she makes a shocking discovery.

6. Peri and Juliet grow closer

Peri and Juliet are left alone while out for drinks with their friends.

Afterwards, a smitten Peri does all that she can to be around Juliet. When she finds out that Juliet has called in sick for work, Peri decides to go and pay her a visit.

However, a surprising realisation threatens to shatter any hope for a rekindling between them.

7. Beau tricks Donna-Marie

When newcomer Beau states that he's looking for a new personal trainer, Donna-Marie is the first to offer but he tricks her into revealing her lack of qualifications for the role.

Beau later reveals that he has been let down by a solicitor and Donna-Marie knows exactly who can pick up the slack.

8. Tony and Grace team up

Feeling guilty for the lack of action in the wake of Maxine's ordeal, Tony comes up with an idea to deliver a message from the men of Hollyoaks.

In doing so, he finds a surprising alliance with Grace but the same can't be said for Tony's situation at home.

Despite Tony's efforts, tension continues to build between him and Beau.

9. Mercedes reveals a secret

Goldie is armed and ready with new information as Mercedes arrives back from Alicante.

Before Goldie can make the big reveal, Mercedes decides to be honest with her family about what she has been hiding.

A family vote later leaves one of them feeling heartbroken and betrayed.

10. James takes a shine to Beau

A miserable James perks up when he takes a shine to his latest client, Beau. But after he catches the end of a conversation between Tony and Beau, James gets the wrong idea.

Beau sets the record straight between him and James, before inviting the lawyer out for an unconventional therapy day.

As Beau recalls a lonely childhood, the pair bond over their close relationships with their late mums and James makes a surprising vouch for Tony, but will it be enough to fix what has been done?

11. Mercedes gets a new ally

After the results of the family vote, the McQueens struggle to adjust to the divide between them.

Felix bumps into Mercedes as she visits Sylver's grave, and the pair find common ground in defending their children no matter what.

When Mercedes reveals the shocking truth about what is going on at home, Felix insists that he'll be there for her.

12. Warren and Norma get shock news

There's some shocking news for Warren as Norma discovers there's a threat on her life that puts the liver donation at risk.

Warren later enlists resident criminal experts to help him find out who it is making the threats.

13. Juliet makes a worrying discovery

An intense nerf battle between Imran and Juliet has shattering results when she breaks a cookie jar that Tom got for Yazz.

Things go from bad to worse when Imran accidentally glues his hands to the jar, and he and Juliet are forced to confess what they've done.

Afterwards, Juliet catches Imran in a lie when he tells Shaq that he had a burger not long before.

Later, Juliet makes an unsettling discovery behind the couch cushion that brings Imran's recovery into question.
