The actors on Home And Away have a history of falling in love offscreen - here's looking at you, Sophie Dillman and Patrick O'Connor! - and that's exactly what happened to Sarah Roberts and James Stewart.

James was already a regular on the popular Aussie soap, playing bad boy Justin, when Sarah joined the cast as the feisty, leather-clad Willow in 2017.

From the first moment Sarah sauntered onto the screen, much to the surprise of James' character (more on that later), there was no denying there was chemistry between these two.

In fact, Sarah has previously revealed that the bond between her and James is so strong, that their romantic scenes together felt completely natural.

"There's real chemistry, so it's easy – I don't even have to act!" she explained.

Sarah says knowing their love is real off-screen has actually helped her on set.

"It's hard not to laugh sometimes – [James is] very funny. But it also adds to the work that we do, having those little secrets. It's fun."

Following a whirlwind romance, the couple tied the knot in July 2019 in a stunning wedding attended by only their close family and friends.

They actually had two weddings - the official signing of the papers during a casual affair in Sydney's Coogee, followed by their glamorous nuptials in an Irish castle.

On their first wedding anniversary Sarah uploaded this cute photo of a bouquet of roses gifted to her by James, along with a polaroid from the special day, featuring a snap of herself, James, and the daughter he shares with his former partner Jessica Marais, Scout.

James says the wedding was a "fresh start" for the couple, allowing them to create a lifetime of their own memories.

"It feels like a foundation's made to go and do something brilliant," James has previously said.

"Who knows what's going to happen in the next six, 12, 18, 24 months? But whatever it is, it's going to be well-supported and it's going to be so much easier."

The Home and Away actor was the first to share the snaps, and he gushed, "… love ya baby x."

Ever a supportive co-star, Georgie Parker commented, "Beautiful."

Sarah then posted one of the selfies on her account and replied, "hey husby. I love u too 🤍."

James took his beloved wife on a helicopter adventure for her 37th birthday, and they couldn't look more in love high in the sky.

Sarah shared a picture from inside the helicopter, of her in James' arms, and with pancakes, which she captioned, "Absolutely spoilt. Thank you @jamesstewart Love you husby ."

Their friend and Home and Away star, Ada Nicodemou, shared her congratulatory message in the Instagram posts' comment section. She wrote, "Happy birthday gorgeous, I hope u had a lovely day ."

James shared a besotted message on his Instagram with a picture of him with Sarah during the party he threw for her.

He penned, "Thanks @bigpoppas_syd for the food, the wine, the hip hop and the whiskey at Sarah's party… such a good night! 🥃🎤."

Sarah adoringly replied with a loved-up comment detailing just how much she enjoyed James' birthday surprises.

"BEST. NIGHT. EVERRRRRR!!!!! So good to be ripping it up on the DF with my baby again. Love u my secret squirrel husby xxx I take it back, you're EXCELLENT at surprises now!! 😉," she gushed.

In a separate post, Sarah thanked her friends, family, and fans for all the supportive messages by sharing a few pictures from her big birthday dinner, which featured adorable snaps with her hubby.

Alongside the pictures, she wrote, "What a birthday! 🥳 Thank you for all the love & attention from my sneaky husby! You made me feel like an absolute queen! All my beautiful friends & family…your presence & presents (see what I did there!? 😉), texts, videos, surprises, dance moves, calls & outpouring of love have left my heart bursting & my cheeks sore from smiling. What a miracle it is to even exist!

To mark three years since James asked her to be his wife, Sarah shared a hilarious post of their engagement pictures doctored to make them look old. The mischievous person behind the edit was, of course, her brother.

She began her caption by sweetly penning, "3 years ago today Jimmy asked me to be his wifey." But she quickly turned her attention to her brother's antics by writing, "To celebrate, here's what my bro had to say about it... he'd be happy his jokes are famous, and I'm still happily married."

Sarah has previously reflected on that fateful scene during an interview with TV WEEK in 2018, where she explained how James helped her through her early days on set.

"I'm a nervous person and I shot about eight scenes that day, so it was full-on," she recalled."But Jimmy took me under his wing [that day]. I learnt a lot from him."

Sarah also explained how their romance spilled over from reel life to real life.

"We became friends and things just evolved. He's very funny, charming, kind and generous – plus he's handsome! So all of those things attracted me to him," Sarah said.

The couple chose to get married in Ireland, as that is where Sarah's brother and family live.

"It was hard to put together because of the time difference from Australia to Ireland," Sarah has previously explained of organising their destination wedding. "We would go to work [on Home and Away] all day, and then come home and wait for the Irish to wake up so we could call and email."
