Home and Away's Ziggy Astoni to suffer shock collapse in baby storyline

Will she and the baby be okay?

Ziggy and Dean have a baby on the way in Home and Away, but the news has come at a busy time in their lives, and next week sees Ziggy show that she is not taking the best care of herself or her unborn child.

The pregnancy news came along right when Ziggy was about to have her life changed by having her dreams of becoming a pro surfer come true. Add to that how busy her job is and it is understandable that she is struggling – and the morning sickness is not helping matters, either.

Concerned for his family’s health, Dean encourages Ziggy to tell Justin about the pregnancy so he can ease some of the load from her while at work.

While Ziggy does agree, she soon finds it harder to break the news when Justin offers her a promotion that she accepts.

Dean is frustrated that not only has she not said anything, but now her workload will have increased even more. But Ziggy is adamant that she wants to stick to her guns, feeling as though she has earned the promotion.

But the amount of work she has on her plate soon takes its toll and when left alone in the garage, she accidentally breathes in chemical solvent and collapses unconscious on the garage floor.

Thankfully, Tane soon arrives and is stunned to see the condition that Ziggy is in, and when Ziggy comes to, she spills the beans about the pregnancy, stunning him even further.

Happily for everyone, Ziggy hears that the baby will be okay, but it is clear that something needs to change if she plans on keeping them both healthy.

While Tane agrees to stay quiet about what he has learned, Dean realises that he needs to put his foot down and set some ground rules so that Ziggy doesn’t have any further issues.

But will Ziggy be able to put herself and her child first, or is she set for more problems along the way?

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
