It’s been nine long years since Kate Ritchie last graced our screens; in 2013, she reprised her long-running Home and Away role as Sally Fletcher to commemorate the show’s 25th anniversary.
But Kate is finally returning to acting!
During its Upfronts event, Channel Seven announced that Kate will star alongside Erik Thompson, Ryan Johnson, Catherine Văn-Davies and Aaron Glenane in an upcoming series, The Claremont Murders.
The official poster for Kate’s new show.
The Claremont Murders will be a two-part miniseries telling the story of one of Australia’s most notorious crimes and will air in 2023.
Kate shared her excitement about the series on Instagram and wrote, “What a humbling experience to work on this production.”
She also shared a synopsis for the upcoming investigative drama.
“[The Claremont Murders] explores how the disappearance of three young women in Perth in the late 1990s launched a 25-year investigation by the police and one tenacious journalist.”
At this stage, it’s not yet been announced which role Kate is playing in The Claremont Murders, so stay tuned!
The news of Kate’s long-awaited return to acting comes just days after she announced she was taking a break from her popular radio show, Nova’s Kate, Tim & Joel, which she co-hosts with Tim Blackwell and Joel Creasey.
