Former Home and Away star Sarah Roberts reveals whether she'd return to soap

The actress departed the show last year.

Home and Away star Sarah Roberts stepped away from the soap last year after playing Willow Harris for over three years, and has since starred in an Australian film.

A year on from her "reluctant" exit, the actress has stated that she'd love to make a comeback.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Roberts said: "I'd love to go back to Home and Away, I loved my time there. I became so close with everyone and they became like a family.

"Being on that show feels like a holiday too because you just get to hang out with all your favourite people at work every day."

Of course, one cast member still on Home and Away is part of her family, as she married Justin Morgan actor James Stewart back in 2019.

Another thing Roberts praised the soap for was not giving Willow stereotypical character traits because of her Sri Lankan heritage.

"Something that I really loved about working on Home and Away was that I was a bad girl. And I was still Sri Lankan," she explained, "but it wasn't rammed down anyone's throat.

Home and Away – who is newcomer Heather?

"My [on-screen] father sang a Sri Lankan lullaby to me when I was on my deathbed. It's beautiful to integrate culture like that onto screens in Australia because you look around on Australian streets, and people come from all over the world, that's what's so beautiful about Australia."

In spite of all her fondness for the Aussie soap, she did state that she would only return if "the storyline was right".

Meanwhile, Leah Patterson actress Ada Nicodemou has stated that she has no plans for leaving Home and Away any time soon.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
