Emmerdale star Katherine Dow Blyton reveals new heartbreak for Harriet Finch

 "She's done all she can."

Emmerdale star Katherine Dow Blyton has revealed heartbreaking new scenes for her character Harriet Finch.

Harriet is currently fighting to win back her ex-partner Will Taylor, who's due to marry his fiancée Kim Tate in a few days' time.

Upcoming scenes see the love triangle come to a head, as Harriet makes one last plea to Will – unaware that Kim is listening into the conversation.

With Will determined that Kim is the right woman for him, it seems that Harriet may have to back down.

Katherine explained: "Harriet knows there's something still there and she knows Will cares for her. I think she's just hoping her feelings are reciprocated.

"When Will was a bit drunk on his stag night, he told her he still loved her and tried to kiss her and she's taken that as a green flag to pursue him further.

"She believes he shouldn't be with Kim and that Kim will never make him happy."

Asked how Harriet feels when Will rejects her, Katherine replied: "She's heartbroken. She's done all she can. She tells him it's not too late and life's too short but this is the last time she'll say it.

"She's tried every which way, she's tried dissing Kim, she's tried reminding him of when they were together and how happy they were – apart from when she slept with and killed Malone, that was a little blip!

"She knows she's been defeated and then Kim comes round to visit. When she opens the door she thinks it's Will coming round but it's actually Kim and there's another stand-off there.

"Harriet pursues it with such intensity because she's convinced she can convince Will not to go through with it. She's hideous about Kim and says she's a monster. She pulls every weapon out of the bag that she can."

When Kim turns up for a row, Harriet loses her composure and grabs her love rival by the throat.

Discussing the scene, Katherine added: "Harriet's not scared of Kim but Harriet doesn't trust her. She knows Kim's reputation and what she's done in the past but Harriet can fight her own corner. She is, however, slightly put on the back foot by Kim's little tricks.

"Kim comes to the house and Harriet thinks it's Will because devious Kim has text from Will's phone. She's pretty much broken at that point. Something Kim says makes Harriet lose it for a moment. It's a good confrontation, but ultimately who will win?"

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV, and streams on the ITV Hub
