Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs punches Nick Tilsley in row over Hope

 Fiz is horrified.

Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs lashes out at Nick Tilsley next week in a row over Hope Stape and Sam Blakeman.

Tyrone struggles under the pressure as his family's dark history is splashed over the pages of the local newspaper.

Upcoming episodes see Tyrone and his partner Fiz discover that the Weatherfield Gazette is planning to serialise a new book that has been written about Fiz's late husband John Stape.

Tyrone and Fiz dread the publication of the book and the tie-in articles, aware that the scandalous details of John's serial killer crimes will cause a major stir.

When two articles appear in the Gazette as planned, Fiz's daughter Hope goes missing from school.

Fiz is relieved when she finds Hope in Victoria Garden with Nick's son Sam. Sam explains that Hope was upset about the nasty things her classmates were saying about her father John.

Annoyed that Sam was dragged into this, Nick decides it's the last thing his son needs and so bans him from spending any time with Hope in future.

When news of this decision gets back to Tyrone, he reacts angrily by heading over to Nick's flat and punching him in the face.

Nick responds by doubling down on the Hope and Sam ban. Fiz accuses Tyrone of making things worse, pointing out that his bad temper may have cost Hope her friendship with Sam.

Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone, explained: "Tyrone isn't a violent man and he mentions this throughout. He has been on the wrong end of violence too often throughout his life so it's a real frustration that he is feeling.

"It's the lack of knowing what to do in these situations that makes him lash out and he is frustrated with himself for not knowing the best way to go."

Discussing the fallout, Alan continued: "Tyrone feels a massive disappointment in himself. He just wants to do something to help and he doesn't quite know how to do it then he realises how badly he has messed up when Fiz tells him that he has gone about it in all the wrong ways.

"Deep down he probably knows himself that it was the wrong thing to do, but he is so disappointed when Fiz tells him that too."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
