Coronation Street star Isabella Flanagan speaks out on long-term future for Hope Stape
"I love doing bad things."
Coronation Street star Isabella Flanagan has opened up about the long term future of her character Hope Stape.
In an interview with Inside Soap, the actor talked about the journey her character has been on so far and what she hopes to see in the future.
Talking about what she thinks is in store for her character Hope as she embarks on her teen years, she said: “I feel as if Hope might quieten down a bit. But then they’ll make her do something super bad.
“Everyone will think she’s doing something nicer, and then 'Boom!', she’ll do something awful,” she added.
“Mollie Gallagher, who plays Nina, is really cool and I’d like Hope to hang around the older girls a bit more. The people on the show are like my second family, I never want to leave."
Isabella also opened up about her character’s journey from the very beginning.
“I was only six when I joined, and I never expected any of this. But in a good way, because it means more work for me and it’s so much fun,” she said.
“I would never choose a good character over playing Hope. I love doing bad things."
Meanwhile, on the other end of the Cobbles, Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has addressed the new rift between Fiz and Tyrone as the Weatherfield Gazette's plans to serialise a new book about Fiz’s late husband, John Stape, puts a strain on the couple.
“Both Fiz and Tyrone are really upset that this situation is rearing its ugly head,” he said.
"It puts them in a position where they are going to have to speak to Hope about John Stape before they have wanted to. Tyrone is also really upset about it because he feels like it’s out of his control."
