Emmerdale's Zoë Henry addresses lack of scenes with real-life husband Jeff Hordley

Will that change now Rhona is a Dingle?

Emmerdale star Zoë Henry has spoken about how, despite working with husband Jeff Hordley on the same show, she doesn't actually get to see him at work all that often.

The actress plays Rhona Goskirk on the ITV soap, while her other half stars as Cain Dingle.

These characters don't get a whole lot of crossover due to them being featured in different social circles, but sometimes – like Rhona's marriage to Marlon – the writers bring them together to share scenes.

Speaking about what it was like to get to work alongside her husband, Henry told the Express: "[The wedding] was actually a really lovely couple of weeks of filming, so it’s nice to see Jeff about really.

"It’s the day job, that sounds really boring but it is and it’s nice as we got to travel in together and home together (for the wedding filming). It’s a boring answer but it is just our job, I think sometimes you just dread those long days."

The actress also joked: "I probably won’t see him for another couple of years unless maybe one of us dies."

The couple met at drama school in 1994 and tied the knot in 2003. Between them, they have two children called Stan and Violet. When the kids were younger, they had it worked out so that their characters had storylines at different times so they could alternate childcare duties.

Perhaps now that Rhona is part of the Dingle family (although she's not taken the name), they may get more scenes together...

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
