Emmerdale's Liv Flaherty suffers alcoholism relapse in Sandra storyline

Sandra's schemes have sad consequences for Liv.

Emmerdale will show Liv and Sandra returning from holiday next week – but this only means more trouble is on the way for Liv and Vinny.

As viewers know, Sandra has been turning the screws for some time to create tension between the couple, and as Sandra and Liv return home, her scheming looks like it is working.

Vinny gets a shock when he sees a For Sale sign has been put up outside Mill Cottage, and he wastes little time in sharing his views on Liv making such a big decision without talking to him.

But luckily for Vinny, Mandy is about, and figures out that all of his issues with Liv are down to Sandra's meddling. It looks like Mandy's detective work could bring both Sandra and Terry down.

But while it looks as though Vinny is close to getting the upper hand in this battle of wills against Sandra, things soon take another turn and his marriage is left in a worse place than ever.

Pretending that he's fine with the move to Spain, Vinny and Mandy plan to catch Sandra out by getting Jimmy on board to feign interest in buying the cottage.

But when Liv finds out that the whole thing was a ruse, she's furious at Vinny and orders him out of the house – and Sandra is delighted, of course.

For Vinny, this is the final straw, and Mandy is heartbroken for him as he declares he's got no fight left in him to try and save his marriage to Liv.

And Vinny isn't the only one struggling, as Liv soon finds herself turning back to alcohol – with a little persuasion from Sandra.

And once Liv has had a few drinks, she soon gets chatty and reveals details about the money she has been saving up. Sandra pays close attention to that, and continues to ply her daughter with alcohol until she falls asleep.

And when Liv is out for the count, Sandra heads online and accesses the savings account – is she about to rob Liv of every penny she owns?
