Emmerdale's Kim Tate faces new custody challenge over Millie
A surprising foe emerges.
Kim Tate is facing a custody challenge for Millie from Wendy Posner in Emmerdale.
Three episodes aired on Wednesday night (September 15) building up tension between young Millie and her nan Kim after the child overheard some unkind words about her dad Jamie.
Millie had been staying with Kim at Home Farm after her other nan, Hazel, was injured in a physical confrontation with Jamie.
The third episode started with Kim speaking with Harriet about Millie running away from home, not satisfied about the number of police out looking for the child.
Harriet reminded Kim all police resources are already deployed and villagers have joined the search too. Plus, it's not possible for Jamie to have kidnapped Millie since he's out of the country.
"He could have paid someone else to do it, or she could have been in a road accident," Kim pointed out.
Kim was assured there were no reports at the hospital of any such injuries. Sure enough, she turned up later at the cafe to see Millie had run to Wendy's house – where she'd lived with mum Andrea.
When Kim stepped in to take Millie home, Wendy argued that it wasn't such a good idea for the child to be staying at Home Farm.
"I think it would be better if she stays with me," Wendy insisted.
Kim tried to explain the situation with Jamie, but Wendy wasn't budging: "You've been told now will you please just leave us alone?"
Kim argued that Millie was only reluctant to be with her because of "the lies" Jamie and Hazel had fed her.
"Her mother's dead, her father's on the run, her other gran's in hospital. Right now, I am the only family left for her to live with," Kim claimed.
Wendy hit back: "Yeah, and she'd rather live with me!"

Bob Hope intervened to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control. At her wits end, Kim agreed for Millie to stay with Wendy for one night.
"This isn't about one night. This is about the rest of her life," Kim vowed.
Emmerdale star Claire King recently offered insight into Kim's mindset now that Millie has returned to Home Farm.
"Kim is not one of those people who'll do something bad to Millie just because she doesn't like Jamie. She wants to protect this child, but Millie is feeling really unsettled and just doesn't want to be there. Millie wants to go back to Hazel and life with daddy and all the rest of it," the actress told
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
