Emmerdale star Katherine Dow Blyton teases Harriet's fight for Will
"Harriet's never stopped loving Will."
With Emmerdale's 50th anniversary celebrations on the way, fans are eager to see what's in store for the Yorkshire village.
The episodes are set to be busy for Harriet Finch, with the character getting wrapped up in all sorts of trouble ahead of Will's wedding with Kim Tate (Claire King).
Speaking to Inside Soap, actress Katherine Dow Blyton has offered fans a glimpse of what her character will be up to in the upcoming special episodes, and how Harriet could cause chaos for the soon-to-be married couple.
Emmerdale's Danny Miller shares sweet look at his wedding in emotional video
"Harriet's never stopped loving Will. We'll start to see the upcoming wedding throw her into a panic," she said. "It becomes now or never for her – she's desperate to let Will know how she feels [about him]. She gets a bit bonkers about it."
The actress, who joined Emmerdale in 2013, also joked about a potential fight with Kim, saying that Harriet possesses "a lot of hidden skills" and can "stand her ground".
Blyton also had other reasons to enjoy the new plotline, which allowed her and King to connect during filming. "Doing this story has been brilliant," said Blyton. "Claire King and I haven't really worked together before this, so it's been great to have this plot and get to know her."
Emmerdale and Coronation Street episodes part of latest ITV schedule changes
The actress has previously said Harriet will be "playing with fire" when taking on Kim, with the feisty pair set to generate "fireworks" when they clash.
The battle won't be the only stormy affair in the village, with terrible weather set to hit the Dales. Blyton understandably remained tight-lipped on these events, but did say that she had "thrown herself around a bit" during filming.
Producers have also been reluctant to share details, but Kate Brooks did say that some characters will be "in peril", with the set-piece due to have a massive impact on the lives of the characters.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
