Emmerdale star Isobel Steele confirms Liv danger in storm storyline

The big stunt scenes will air next month.

Emmerdale star Isobel Steele has confirmed her character Liv Flaherty faces danger in the upcoming autumn stunt.

As part of its 50th anniversary, the soap is set to air a big storm for the villagers that will include huge stunt scenes – with some characters inevitably facing danger.

Speaking to  and other media about the scenes airing in October, Isobel confirmed that Liv will be involved.

"Yes, it's so much fun," she said of filming. "I love anything to do with stunts. Anything different from the normal day is really good fun. The wind machines are huge and so loud.

"I’m so excited about it. I've got a clip-on holder for my earbuds, which we all have to have on because the machines are so loud and we can't hear what anyone is saying."

"Me and Brad [Johnson, who plays Vinny] are going to have to think about when we say our line," she went on to reveal. "We've got no idea because we can't hear or see each other at all, so we're just kind of winging it! It's really good fun to do.

"There are flags the ADs are using in order to signal for the wind and signal for us, because we can’t hear or see, we're just looking for a bit of green! It's really good fun, I'm really enjoying it."

Speaking further about what the set looks like, Isobel revealed that she saw the Emmerdale sign "on its side", which took her aback.

"Trees are smashed everywhere, branches… it looks like it's not been worked in for years and looks derelict. It looks amazing," the star added.

Speaking last month about the stunt, producer Kate Brooks confirmed: "Some of our best-loved villagers will be in peril and it's safe to say that the village will never be the same after this. The impact this storm has on people's lives is just massive. That is our big set-piece stunt."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
