Emmerdale row as Liv Dingle returns to the village

 Her marriage is under threat.

Emmerdale couple Liv and Vinny Dingle drift further apart tonight (September 26) as Sandra Flaherty's cruel scheme continues.

The young couple are currently unaware that Sandra is trying to sabotage their marriage as part of a bigger plan to steal Liv's savings.

In recent days, Liv has been enjoying a holiday abroad with her mother, who made sure to exclude Vinny from the trip.

Vinny has struggled without Liv, especially as he hasn't been able to contact her as her phone broke during her time away.

Monday's episode sees Vinny taken by surprise as a 'For Sale' sign is put up outside Mill Cottage.

The potential sale has seemingly been organised by Liv, but she hasn't spoken to Vinny about it.

When Liv and Sandra return in a taxi shortly afterwards, they're both in high spirits after their holiday.

The mood turns sour as Vinny expresses his upset over Liv making such a big decision without him.

As bickering breaks out, Sandra is delighted that her plan to cause trouble between Liv and Vinny is working.

Isobel Steele, who plays Liv, recently spoke to  and other media about her character's potential plans to leave the village.

She said: "I think if Liv sat down and really looked at it with a clear head, she would see there is actually no reason to leave the village at all.

"Liv is really happy there, she's married, there's loads of family that look out for her close by, and it's really community based. That's all Liv's wanted for years, so there's no reason for her to want to leave.

"But it's really well written and you can tell how Sandra has managed to manipulate it to make Liv feel claustrophobic in her relationship and like no-one has her back.

"Sandra makes Liv feel like the only person who really knows her and has her back is Sandra, because of the history they've had in the past.

"But it's frustrating for the other characters involved who are asking, 'Why do you want to leave? It doesn't make sense!' But she doesn't even know, she's just been blindsided by it."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
