Emmerdale arrest for Aaron Dingle after show return

 In trouble already!

Emmerdale has revealed that Aaron Dingle will be arrested when he returns to the village next week.

Danny Miller has reprised his role as Aaron for a guest stint, which ties in with the ITV soap's 50th anniversary celebrations.

Next week, Aaron's big comeback coincides with the latest storyline twist involving Liv Dingle, Vinny Dingle and Sandra Flaherty.

Sandra's villainous sidekick Terry breaks into Mill Cottage, clearly unhappy that Liv has turned against her mother after finally catching her out.

When Liv catches Terry in her home, he orders her to retract her statement to the police. Liv refuses and fights against Terry, but disaster strikes when he knocks her down and she falls unconscious after hitting her head on the table.

Terry tries to flee from the scene but he's stopped in his tracks by Aaron, who has just returned home.

Aaron attacks Terry for hurting Liv, but local policewoman Harriet Finch arrives on the scene and stops him from going any further.

An ambulance is called to help Liv, who's still unresponsive, while Aaron is arrested.

Chas Dingle is surprised to see her son back in the village, but there's no time for a catch-up when Aaron tries to contest his own arrest.

Chas ends up falling out with Harriet, who stubbornly refuses her demands to release Aaron.

Later, once Aaron is finally free again, he arrives at the hospital to see Liv, who has regained consciousness.

Vinny steps in to stop Aaron, insisting that Liv wants nothing to do with him after their falling-out over Ben Tucker's murder last year.

Aaron starts to doubt whether he has done the right thing by returning to the village. Can he find a way to make amends with his sister?

Emmerdale bosses announced Aaron's return last month, confirming that Tracy Metcalfe and Diane Sugden will also be back for the 50th anniversary episodes.

Executive producer Jane Hudson told  and other media: "Aaron's back and how is he going to respond when he finds out that his mum is cheating on Paddy, who he sees as a father?

"Is he going to discover that Sandra is not all about Liv? There's a huge story happening over there."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
