Emmerdale's Chas Dingle makes a desperate promise after being caught out

Her affair with Al Chapman could be exposed!

Chas Dingle has made a desperate promise in Emmerdale to stop her affair with Al Chapman from being exposed.

The pair's sneaking around was finally caught out this week, when Belle Dingle saw them kissing while leaving a hotel after one of their secret trysts.

Belle wasted no time in confronting Chas in Tuesday's (August 23) episode, especially after spotting another cosy exchange in the village.

"You're busted now," Belle announced to Chas and Al. "I saw you two, leaving the hotel yesterday."

She then revealed: "I saw you two kissing, and don't deny it, Chas, because I know when you're lying."

Belle warned Chas she needed to save her lies for Paddy, only for Chas to beg her to keep the secret for Paddy's sake.

"If he knew, it'd destroy him," Chas admitted.

Chas gave Belle pause by insisting Faith's final months would be "blighted" if the truth about her affair with Al was to come out.

"Yes, I know it's my fault, and my fault alone, and I'll have to live with that for the rest of my life. And, yes, I deserve to be punished — but [Faith] doesn't," Chas argued.

Later, the pair met up outside of the village once again where Belle agreed she would keep their secret so long as Chas ended the affair for good.

"I get why you've done this, and yeah you're still all types of wrong, but I'm not having it bust up your marriage and break everyone's heart. Especially not your mum right now," Belle explained.

But will Chas actually break things off with Al?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
