Emmerdale reveals outcome of Chas Dingle's big promise over Al Chapman
The affair dramas aren't over just yet.
Emmerdale has confirmed that Chas Dingle and Al Chapman's secret affair isn't over.
Chas reached a crossroads in last night's episode (August 23) after discovering that her cousin Belle had rumbled her big betrayal.
When Chas learned that Belle had spotted her at a hotel with Al, she braced herself for the truth to come out.
Belle offered Chas a deal instead, promising to keep quiet as long as Chas ended things with Al. Chas vowed to do so, claiming that she appreciated the lifeline and didn't want to ruin her marriage to Paddy.
In next week's episodes, it becomes clear that Chas won't be keeping her promise to Belle, despite her best efforts to stay away from Al.
With Al refusing to give up on Chas, he hands her two burner phones so they can cover their tracks more easily.
As Chas accepts the phones, it's confirmation that their affair is officially back on.
Chas continues to feel like she needs the distraction from problems at home, as she's growing frustrated over her mum Faith's attitude towards the effects of her cancer

Chas fears that Faith is in denial over what's to come, leading to tensions at the pub.
Emmerdale bosses recently tipped Chas and Al's storyline as one to watch in the upcoming 50th anniversary month, which will include a storm disaster.
Executive producer Jane Hudson commented: "Faith's story, which is such an emotional and heartbreaking story, is going to be huge across our 50th and I think everybody involved in that story is pulling out some of the most amazing performances I've seen in soap for a long time.

"There is also Amelia, will she or won't she have the baby?
"And Chas and Al – if you are going to get it on, you've got the storm for cover."
Michael Wildman, who plays Al, has also teased that his character will start fighting for Chas as the story continues.
He recently told Inside Soap: "[Al is] going to have some hard choices to make, and I think the fact that Al is so in love with Chas will make him fight for her.
"Part of me would love a happy ending for them as Al's pushing 50 years old – he needs to settle down!"
