Neighbours fans notice missing returnee and cut moments in UK version of finale

 Spot the difference.

Neighbours finally ended its 37 year long run on Friday (July 29) with an epic one hour finale that left fans feeling very emotional.

The finale was shown a day earlier in Australia, and now that both versions have aired, fans on Twitter have been comparing the two. And upon comparison, they have noticed a bunch of little differences.

For example, in the UK version, fans recognised songs by Harry Styles and George Ezra playing in the background. These songs were not present in the Australian version.

How Neighbours tricked fans with its final story

The Australian edit also saw Sky Mangel (played by Stephanie McIntosh) appear in the video montage with the rest of the past characters who couldn’t make it in person to Karl and Susan's house.

She did not appear in the UK episode, but you can see that moment here (around the 1:33 mark).

In the same scene, Karl told Toadie: "Toad, you're like a son to us. Well, that's ridiculous isn't it? Toad, you are a son to us."

This was also cut from the UK broadcast (it starts here at around 0:18).

Another thing fans noticed was that in Beth Brennan's video message, she mentioned her son Ned, saying, "Sending love to you, Ned. Love you son."

Ned can be seen smiling at this moment. This was also cut from the UK version. (around 2:15 in the video)
