Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis reveals he dated co-star

He earned himself the reputation of a ladies' man.

Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis has revealed he dated one of his co-stars, but managed to keep it under wraps.

The Paul Robinson actor spilled the beans to Stellar Magazine that he was in a relationship with Natalie Imbruglia when she was on the soap in the '90s.

Imbruglia, prior to her successful pop career, played Beth Brennan on the Aussie soap from 1992 to 1994 and the pair managed to keep their relationship private. However, Stefan admitted that he earned a bit of a 'ladies' man' reputation on the soap after also dating Gayle Blakeney.

"Because of my relationship with Gayle and later, in a well-kept secret, I was also going out with Natalie Imbruglia, there was a rumour that I was making my way through the female cast."

The actor first appeared on the soap in 1985 in its inception, departing eight years later and then returning in 2004, and ahead of the soap's finale this August he admitted he "surprised" himself with how emotional he felt.

"It's a melancholy day for me," Stefan told Studio 10. "I sort of closed the studio door behind me on my very last scene, my very last dialogue scene, and, yeah, I suddenly surprised myself by getting incredibly emotional.

"I just kept to myself and went to my dressing room… I'm keeping a very low profile today. I think I'll just be an absolute mess if I sort of hang around too long."

The soap is coming to an end after UK broadcaster Channel 5 made the decision to drop the show from its schedules.

As well as the current regular cast, fans will also get to say goodbye to many past faces as well, including Kylie Minogue (Charlene Robinson) and Jason Donovan (Scott Robinson).

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 and streams on My5. In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach and streams on 10 Play.
