Home and Away to air two abrupt exits as popular characters bow out

It's all change in the Bay.

Home and Away airs the final scenes of Logan Bennett and Jasmine Delaney on UK screens next week.

The two characters bowed out on Australian screens last month, but have remained on air on Channel 5, which currently airs episodes around six weeks behind.

In next week's episodes on Channel 5, Logan is seen deep in thought as he paces in his office at the hospital.

Logan is clearly agonising over an important decision, but soon makes his choice by contacting the army to ask about re-enlisting.

Shortly afterwards, Mackenzie Booth arrives at the hospital to look for Logan but finds that he has already been replaced by Dr Bolton, who now oversees the ED.

Mac heads to Salt and pours herself a drink, before leaving a voice message for Logan to check that he's alright.

The following morning, Mac plays Jasmine the voice message that Logan left in response. Logan explains that he couldn't stay in Summer Bay any longer following a tough few months.

Mac isn't happy after losing out on the possibility of a reunion with Logan, but she respects his decision.

Home and Away star Sam Frost announces engagement

Home and Away bosses announced in December 2021 that Harley Bonner, who played Logan, would not be returning to film in 2022.

A show spokesperson said at the time: "Channel Seven can confirm Harley will not return to Home and Away when filming resumes in the coming weeks. Harley leaves with our best wishes and sincere thanks for his work on the show."

Meanwhile, Jasmine receives some distressing news when she discovers that Wendy – the mother of her late husband Robbo – has suffered a heart attack.

Jasmine decides to go and help the Shaws on their family farm while Wendy recovers.

Sam Frost, who played Jasmine, announced last year that she'd be taking a break from Home and Away, giving her time to receive COVID vaccinations. All cast at Home and Away are obliged to be vaccinated due to a rule implemented at the start of the year.

In a change of plans, Sam later announced that her departure would be permanent.

A spokesperson for Channel 7 said in a statement sent to Digital Spy: "We support and respect Sam's decision to leave Home and Away. Sam leaves with our sincere thanks and very best wishes for the future."

Show insiders suggested that Sam's exit was not related to the previous vaccination discussions.

Home and Away airs these scenes on Monday, July 18 and Friday, July 22 at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
