Neighbours' Glen Donnelly makes a risky decision in painkiller plot
Things are not looking good.
Neighbours has confirmed that Glen Donnelly will make a risky decision about his painkiller use next week as the aftermath of his suffering a nasty accident at work continues.
In recent episodes of the Australian soap, Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano) had become concerned about the awkward dynamic at the vineyard after the revelation that Kiri Hua Durant (Gemma Bird Matheson) was actually Glen's long-lost daughter.
Feeling guilty, Glen (Richard Huggett) tried to rectify the situation by taking on even more work at the vineyard. Unfortunately, Glen ended up pushing himself too far and was involved in a dangerous accident that left him trapped under a barrel, helpless and unable to move.

After Leo found Glen and freed him, Glen was taken to hospital and offered opioid pain relief, but Glen refused, fearing he'd become addicted due to his history of alcohol addiction.
In later episodes, Glen began taking painkillers to cope with the pain, but in scenes set to air next week in the UK, viewers will see that Glen has become reliant on painkillers after the accident.
Eager to be free of his addiction, Glen considers going cold turkey. Initially, Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) is resistant to the idea, but after consulting with Clive Gibbons (Geoff Paine), she accepts Glen's wish and they dispose of the drugs.
Glen is cautiously optimistic about his decision, but there's a long road to recovery ahead of him and later in the week, his withdrawals become too severe.
While Glen tries to be there for Kiri on her birthday, he's also left struggling with the effects of the withdrawal.
A concerned Terese watches Glen try to push through, but he ultimately fails. Feeling ashamed, he lies to get out of the party, but things later go from bad to worse when Kiri catches him out.
Neighbours reveals aftermath of tragic death story
Kiri found out that Glen was her father last month, after Glen's brother Paul spitefully spilled the beans over Glen's secret connection to Kiri Durant.
Speaking to Digital Spy about Paul's revelation, Huggett revealed that it marked the end of Glen and Paul's relationship.
"Glen would like to kill Paul if he could! For Glen, that's it – that's the end of their relationship as brothers," Huggett said. "I don't think there's anything Paul could do to fix it now. In Glen's eyes, it's over. I don't think he can forgive him for this one."
Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 and streams on My5. In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach and streams on 10 Play.
