Neighbours fans will see Hendrix Greyson struggle next week as the Rodwell family finally move to Ramsay Street.

An emotional new storyline beginning this Thursday will see Hendrix left devastated as he discovers that he's seriously ill.

When Hendrix undergoes tests to see if his recent coughing fits have been caused by anything sinister, the results show that he has an autoimmune disease called sarcoidosis, which has attacked his lungs.

In Hendrix's case, this has already developed into a condition called pulmonary fibrosis and his only option is to undergo a lung transplant.

Hendrix's health crisis has been caused by his involvement in the recent fire at Erinsborough High, which was started by Sadie Rodwell and her friend Aubrey Laing.

Hendrix bravely rescued his girlfriend Mackenzie Hargreaves when she was trapped in the burning building a few weeks ago.

In next week's episodes, Hendrix becomes frustrated over the Rodwells moving onto Ramsay Street, feeling that their presence will be a constant reminder of his health crisis.

Hendrix tries to turn to his loved ones for support, but his worst fears become a reality when Wendy Rodwell seems to be everywhere and her presence only makes him feel worse.

Mackenzie, Karl and Susan Kennedy all team up to take Hendrix's mind off the Rodwells, aware that they seem to be triggering him.

Zara Selwyn takes steps to clear the air with Sadie and tries to convince Hendrix to do the same, but in the process, she ends up learning about his condition.

Hendrix begs Zara to keep quiet, leaving her with the tough task of keeping his secret.

Meanwhile, Wendy tries to reassure her family that they'll be welcomed onto Ramsay Street despite Sadie's troublesome past.

Wendy tries to make the effort by arranging a neighbourhood barbecue, but will this pay off?
