Neighbours confirms outcome of Hendrix Greyson's big proposal

Will Mackenzie agree to marry him?

Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours has confirmed the aftermath of Hendrix Greyson's huge proposal after he asks his girlfriend Mackenzie Hargreaves to marry him.

Hendrix (Ben Turland) was recently diagnosed with a serious lung condition called pulmonary fibrosis, which he developed after being caught up in the fire at Erinsborough high school. He's been informed that he will need to undergo a lung transplant within the next three years in order to live.

This week, he and Mackenzie (Georgie Stone) decide to take a trip to Sydney to visit Hendrix's family – including his dad Pierce – and, despite not planning on sharing the news with them, Hendrix ends up opening up about his diagnosis when his sister Alana notices that he is acting oddly.

He then reveals all, and, with his health news out in the open, Hendrix takes stock of his life and realises just how much Mackenzie means to him, so he pops the question to her.

Next week, the outcome of the proposal will be revealed as a stunned but excited Mackenzie accepts Hendrix's proposal and agrees to marry him.

Hendrix's family couldn't be happier about the news and he leaves Sydney feeling closer to them all than ever.

When they get back to Ramsay Street, Hendrix and Mackenzie share their engagement news with their friends and neighbours and soak up all the excitement.

Later in the week, an engagement party is thrown for the couple and the whole street comes together to celebrate their happy news.

Hendrix is having a fantastic time with his loved ones and is able to enjoy not thinking about his illness – when he suddenly gets the phone call of a lifetime. But what big news is Hendrix about to receive?

Actor Ben, who plays Hendrix, previously revealed that his character's proposal is "very much spur of the moment" and that Mackenzie makes Hendrix's "a little less chaotic, and more wholesome".

"She's not expecting it!" he said of Mackenzie's reaction to the big question while speaking to Inside Soap. "They're young and with everything going on, it comes out of nowhere. But Hendrix knows what he wants, and he wants to get married..."

Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, May 23 and Friday, May 27 at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Monday, June 20 and Wednesday, June 22 on 10 Peach (Australia).
