Neighbours announces huge new Hendrix Greyson storyline

 He receives some worrying news.

Neighbours airs emotional scenes for Hendrix Greyson on UK screens next week as he learns that he's seriously ill.

A big new storyline begins as Hendrix agrees to get himself checked out after experiencing some worrying symptoms.

In next week's scenes, Hendrix devotes his attention to supporting his girlfriend Mackenzie Hargreaves after Montana Marcel's much-hyped fashion week ends in disaster.

When the big event ends with Montana's arrest, Mackenzie fears that she has been played for a fool after being asked to model for the influential fashion designer.

Hendrix spends his time trying to cheer up Mackenzie, but his efforts are interrupted when he experiences a serious coughing fit.

He decides to get himself checked out at the hospital, confident that this is just a precaution and he's suffering from a cold.

After undergoing several tests, Hendrix is urgently called back to the hospital to receive his results. He's then stunned to discover that he's unwell as a consequence of saving Mackenzie from the recent Erinsborough High fire.

Hendrix is diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called sarcoidosis, which has attacked his lungs and caused his recent coughing.

Viewers have already seen some early signs of this on screen, such as when Hendrix coughed badly while setting up the barbecue at a recent Ramsay Street garden party.

While sarcoidosis is usually easily treated, it has already developed into a condition called pulmonary fibrosis in Hendrix's case.

Due to the seriousness of the condition, Hendrix's only option is to undergo a lung transplant.

Later, Hendrix interrupts a huge row between Karl and Susan Kennedy, who are still clashing over their ill-fated investment into Montana's start-up business.

Hendrix tells Karl and Susan what he's going through and they promise to come together to support him. However, in private, Susan warns Karl that he's not off the hook yet.

Neighbours airs these scenes on Thursday, May 5 and Friday, May 6 at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Monday, June 6 and Tuesday, June 7 at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
