Home and Away's Mia Anderson to make shock exit decision

Mia and Chloe clash over their future plans.

Home and Away spoilers follow for Australian and UK viewers.

Home and Away's Mia Anderson is about to make a shock decision, as she decides that it could be time to leave Summer Bay behind.

Mia's new husband Ari Parata (Rob Kipa-Williams) recently tragically passed away almost immediately after their wedding and Mia (Anna Samson) has been battling her grief ever since, struggling to cope with her sudden loss.

TV Week reports that, in scenes airing this week in Australia and in just over a month's time in the UK, Mia makes her big decision and shares her choice with Ari's brother, Tane (Ethan Browne).

Tane is gutted to hear how Mia is feeling and worries that he hasn't done enough to keep the Parata family together – something that he promised Ari he would do before Ari died.

Mia assures Tane that he isn't at all to blame for her decision, but rather that it's just something that she has to do. But there's a major spanner in the works – Mia's daughter Chloe (Sam Barrett) is refusing to leave the Bay.

The grieving pair have been finding it difficult to communicate with each other recently, and their impasse over leaving Summer Bay behind looks like it will only push them further apart.

"For Chloe, her grief tends to be enmeshed with observing her mother's grief," Sam said. "It's difficult, because she's so close to Mia. Not being able to spend time with each other because of the different way they grieve is really sad."

When Chloe shows up to work on her day off, Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons) offers her some words of advice, telling her to be clear about what she wants. Chloe may still be upset and angry, but she takes note of Marilyn's words.

Meanwhile, at the gym, Tane tries to sweat out his own annoyance with Mia. When she arrives for work, he tries again to convince her to stick around, but she insists that she can't be happy in Summer Bay now that Ari is gone.

Tane quickly fires up, questioning how Mia can just give up on the Parata family. Dean Thompson (Patrick O'Connor) quickly steps in to defend Mia and the two men end up almost coming to blows.

Home and Away teases dramatic Theo scenes

When Mia gets home later, Chloe launches into a speech that she has prepared for her mum and makes it very clear that she wants to stay in Summer Bay, no matter what.

Mia and Chloe realise that they have come to a crossroads – they need different things from life at the moment, but they also need each other more than ever.

Will they decide to stick around in the Bay or will they head off into the sunset - and will they stay together, or end up going their separate ways?

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5. In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.
