Home and Away have brought Ryan Johnson back for a new upcoming role on the soap.
Johnson, who has recently starred in Australian medical drama Doctor Doctor, has appeared previously on the show before in a short appearance as Paolo Rosetta.
He will be returning as Peter King and featuring in Mackenzie Booth's storyline as she struggles to save her restaurant from financial crisis.
Home and Away star opens up on alcohol addiction
As Mac's financial situation at her restaurant Salt continue to get worse she turns to hosting illegal casino nights in order to save her business.
In a trailer (above) for upcoming episodes airing in Australia, Mac is seen taking more risks by hosting the gambling nights, telling others the events are her only way out.
While further details regarding Johnson's role are yet to be revealed, it can be assumed he will be somewhat involved with the casino nights at Salt as he is seen in the trailer telling Mackenzie to "name her price".
Home and Away first look at missing character return
Emily Weir, who plays Mac on the soap, recently opened up about her character's reckless decisions, saying it "absolutely makes her feel like she is nearing to hitting rock bottom again".
Regarding her decision to host the illegal gambling nights, Weir added: "Initially it's definitely not in Mackenzie's mind. But as the idea develops and the stress of the huge debt weighs on Mackenzie, she sees it as an idea that might be a doable solution."
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5. In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus. Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
