Hollyoaks casts Anya Lawrence as Scott Drinkwell's foster daughter

 Meet Vicky.

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks has cast newcomer Anya Lawrence as Scott Drinkwell's foster daughter.

Scott has been considering fostering a child ever since he took in his friend's daughter, Mary, over Christmas while her mum was in the hospital.

Upcoming scenes will see Scott fostering teenager Vicky, described as "forthright and headstrong" by soap bosses. Scott and Vicky won't bond quite as easily though viewers will eventually see a softer side of Vicky, especially as she might take a liking to one villager.

Scott and Vicky have a rocky beginning when they are first introduced by their social worker, though it only gets worse when Maxine notices something has gone missing.

Vicky is understandably offended when Scott asks whether she stole Maxine's missing item, so he turns to the girl's social worker for an emotional conversation on how to make the situation work.

This new arrangement could be over before it really starts unless Scott and Vicky can find some common ground.

Speaking about joining Hollyoaks, Anya Lawrence has said: "Vicky is a whirlwind! She has had a really difficult start in life and is trying to find a place where she can fit in. I have come to love her, she is fierce and vulnerable, and those two contrasting characteristics make her fun to play.

"I am so excited to watch her develop and grow. Who knows what she will be up to next!"

Her first scenes air on Friday, April 29 on E4 and on Monday, May 2 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

Hollyoaks now streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
