Home and Away RECAP: I take a few days off and come back to find that things have moved on at a rapid pace

take a few days off and come back to find that things have moved on at a rapid pace, and much weeping.

Rachel - the girl from the skydiving accident – is dead, Jasmine is out of her coma but has post-traumatic amnesia, and there’s another new cop.

Justin, however, is still an addict. But at least after a brief fling with alcohol and subsequent monumental hangover, and believing he ran someone over in his car, he’s admitting it now.

Firstly I must say Justin’s acting makes for a pretty convincing addict. He annoys me more than usual and I use that as my very reliable yardstick.

Anyway there’s a lot to catch up on, on the Justin front but from what I can gather Leah changed the locks so Justin can’t turn up unannounced and wreak havoc. Stephen Something takes full advantage of Leah’s vulnerable state and they almost kiss which seems to be exactly what Stephen Something had planned all along.

But in saying that, Leah has already forgiven Justin after a long night of weeping alone on the beach – a favourite spot for the locals to contemplate lifes big problems while the chilling wind turns your hands into claws.

She comes home to Justin, who feels like "death". I’m not aware of the technicalities of him getting back into the house after the locks were changed.

"What happened last night when I saw that look on your face of you being scared, I’m so sorry," Justin says.

"I can’t go through another night like that I just don’t have it in me," Leah replies.

It sounds like the end but alas she gives Justin the hard word to get counselling, go to meetings, whatever, just as long as he doesn’t go back to where he was, unleashing his violent rage paired with intermittent overdosing.

"I just want to be the man you fell in love with," Justin says.

"This is 100% on me.

"Can you just not walk away, not now?"

It seems like they’re in the best position they’ve been in months but the whole Ziggy, Tane, Dean thrupple hasn’t come into the reconciliation plan yet so that is sure to ruffle the feathers again and put "pressure" on Justin. And we all know he can’t handle “pressure”.

Speaking of Dean, he’s still babysitting his sister.

But Mac didn’t make the van explode, it was a faulty gas line, and she even offers Ryder his job back.

In other news Kieran seems to be a permanent fixture, at least for now.

After a slight hiccup lying to the police about already having a sponsor, he’s "hit the jackpot" with his new and real sponsor, although I’ll believe it when I see it, and he thinks it’s going to "work out".

It’s ridiculously optimistic, "facing up to his demons" by sitting at Salt with a big glass of water which everyone else has their breakfast beers.

Last but certainly not least, my favourite, Jasmine.

"Please doc tell me you know what the hell is going on," Irene says seeing Jasmine is a very distressed state.

She’s not in a coma anymore but she has memory comparable to a goldfish.

Christian aka Budget McDreamy (BM) does some more tests and says she’s suffering from seizures which are affecting her memory.

BM, in his reassuring voice, says they’ll get her on the right medication

Indeed Jasmine starts to remember things which is "definitely a positive sign".

Throughout this ordeal Tori and BM are surprisingly amicable considering how recently Rachel, the girl in the skydiving accident, was in a fatal crash.

I imagined he would be having another more than mid-life crisis, weeping on the bathroom floor in the foetus position since he thought his purpose in life was to save Rachel.

But he seems fine and has already come crawling back to Tori with his tail between the legs and begs for forgiveness.

After all that BM has put her though, namely jilting her at the altar, she’s basically reconciled with him.

BM is clearly on his best behaviour though, he’s not going to Rachel’s funeral.

“Why?” Tori says.

“Because I need to be here," BM replies.

And in the elevator where their romance first blossomed, BM and Tori share a cheeky smile and everything’s going to be ok.
