Sarah Roberts shares how after a traumatic time, Home and Away rescued her
Over the past 18 months, Sarah Roberts, the darling of Home And Away, has faced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.
The 35-year-old, who plays Willow in the beloved film, has suffered the loss of her brother and grandmother and has suffered two miscarriages. Sarah married the love of her life and fellow Summer Bay star, James Stewart, on the other end of the spectrum.
In her first year of marriage, the actress has been through worse than anyone but she credits her doting husband with helping her get through.

In our first year of marriage, we’ve been through a lot and we’re just enjoying it I’m really proud of how we’ve come through this year,’ Sarah told The Daily Telegraph.
“Jimmy has been the best husband. He’s so supportive he’s such a rock for me If I need to have a cry he just sits there.” Surprisingly, for her, the drama she performs on film has often functioned as a form of therapy. “I’ve been through so much while working on the show and jumping into [Willow’s] drama was an escape from my real life at times … It’s funny that all that drama is a nice solace.”
“I’ve had a lot that’s happened to me over the past two years. I’ve experienced a lot of grief and I’ve learned a lot about myself.”
“And you just have to keep ongoing. Because the world keeps moving, and sometimes the only way through things is to keep picking yourself up off the ground and keep continuing on. “I’m going to feel like Cinderella on the day but not necessarily because of the dress, “I’m going to feel like Cinderella in the daytime, but not specifically because of the dress. “It could be because of the venue.”
Karl De Abrew, Sarah’s brother, died in October of 2019. Karl De Abrew, Sarah’s brother, walked her down the aisle. Just three months later, he lost his 15-year battle with brain cancer sadly.
Sarah wrote in a heart-wrenching Instagram post at the time, “I’m left with a hole in my heart & 34 years of beautiful memories… growing up together as children into adults,”
“You fought THE BRAVEST battle Big Squirt to the very end and I promise to always live by your standards; to remember what you taught me, “it’s all about the road, not the destination” & “have no regrets.”. I love you, I cherish you, I salute you.”
