Neighbours reveals full details of David and Aaron's surprise baby offer

Neighbours spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Neighbours' David Tanaka and Aaron Brennan are left stunned on UK screens next week as Nicolette Stone offers to have a baby for them.

The couple face some life-changing decisions after Nicolette's suggestion, which comes on the same day that David (Takaya Honda) is planning to fly out to Canada to pursue a surrogacy option.

David and Aaron (Matt Wilson) have found an egg donor in Canada, so David is due to travel there to provide a sample. Once the egg is fertilised and put on ice, David and Aaron plan to look for a surrogate who would carry the baby.

As Nicolette (Charlotte Chimes) watches David and Aaron discussing their exciting new journey, she can't help thinking about her own life – especially when her mum Jane Harris mentions wanting to be a grandmother.

Nicolette later breaks down in front of Jane (Annie Jones), explaining that she wants marriage and children too. She feels upset as she's comparing herself to David and Aaron, knowing that they've already achieved so many traditional life goals that seem a long way off for her.

Later on, when everyone is gathered for David's temporary farewell, Nicolette suggests she could have a baby for him and Aaron instead.

Nicolette is keen on the idea of co-parenting, as she has always wanted a baby herself. Her ideal scenario would see David and Aaron in control of the day-to-day parenting, while she'd retain her freedom as a "fun aunty" who's also involved in the child's life.

This suggestion sparks a mixed response, especially as David is due on a plane in a few hours' time.

David thinks he and Aaron should stick to their original plan, as they've never been interested in co-parenting. Aaron is more enthusiastic, pointing out the benefits of making an arrangement with somebody they already know.

David's dad Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) is also quick to voice his opinion, adamant that Nicolette's spur-of-the-moment suggestion shouldn't be entertained.

In the end, David postpones his trip and the arrangement with Nicolette is officially put on the table as an option. But is it really the best idea for David and Aaron's future?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, December 7 and Tuesday, December 8 at 1pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
